We make sure that our employees always treat your home with respect, and they will never smoke, drink, or eat during their cleaning visits. Am I responsible for insurance?

At TEKA Services we are entirely responsible for maintaining the appropriate insurance cover for our staff, so you can engage our services with complete peace of mind.

Is there anything that you don’t clean?

At TEKA Services our focus is always on keeping your home comfortable and clean, but you should be aware that there are certain things that we don’t do, which are:

• cleaning toys
• cleaning inside your fireplace
• picking up scattered items
• cleaning your iron
• doing laundry
• washing dishes

We are happy to clean the inside of your cabinets, cooker, and refrigerator on request.
Please be aware that our staff will always try to put every item back where they found it, but this isn’t always possible.

Are your services affordable?

Can I ask for changes to my service?

Of course. If you have any particular cleaning requests, or you want to make us aware of items or areas that you want us to avoid, then just let us know. We are here to delight you with a cost-effective cleaning service that makes your life easier.

What time will my cleaner arrive?

It’s not always possible to give you an exact time of arrival. That’s because we want to do a great job, so we spend as much time as we need to on each house that we visit. For this reason, we typically give you an arrival window, so we’ll say that you can expect us between 9 and 12, for example. We don’t want to disrupt your day, so TEKA uses special software to record your preferences, which we do our best to work to. We usually give you an arrival window of 3 to 4 hours.

What if something is damaged during a visit?

At TEKA Services, we respect your property, but accidents can unfortunately happen. In such cases we aim to fix or replace the damaged item, but if this isn’t possible our cleaners are covered by insurance that will cover your loss.

Do I need to be at home when you visit?

No. We work office hours, Monday to Friday, so many of our clients are out when we call. Clients usually give our staff a spare key or access code. Please be assured that our staff will always respect and maintain the security of your property.

What if TEKA staff miss something?

We have a plan for every home that we clean, and this, of course, includes your instructions and preferences. But if we haven’t met your expectations after a visit, you can call us within 24 hours under our satisfaction guarantee. Tell us what we missed, and we will be back to put it right at no extra cost.

What if I need to change my visit?

We aim to clean your home at a time that suits you best, but we know that life can sometimes step in and turn your week upside down. If that happens and you need to change or cancel a visit, please try and give us at least 72 hours’ notice and we will do our best to accommodate your wishes.

What if a visit falls on a holiday?

If one of your visits falls on a holiday, we’ll get in touch to suggest any additional house cleaning services that might help you prepare for it, and we’ll do our best to fit it in so it works with your preferences.

How do I pay for the service?

Your first visit from TEKA Services is payable in advance via credit or debit card. For ongoing service, we accept direct debit, standing order and recurring card payments.

Can I get carpet cleaning from all your branches?

Please get in touch and we’ll let you know if this is available near you. We use a dry extraction cleaning system which produces excellent results.

How much do you charge?

We are committed to offering you the best value cleaning services around. Homes come in all shapes and sizes, and you may want us to clean some things and not others.

You can talk to us directly or use our online quotation system to guide you on price, and if you want us to add any extra services to your cleaning plan then please let us know. Extra cleaning services we offer can include:

Can I give my cleaners any special instructions?

Yes, that’s fine. If we know what you want then it helps us to deliver a better service. Just give us a call and we’ll add your requested changes to your cleaning plan there and then. We will keep a record on your file so our staff can check them before they visit, and you won’t have to repeat yourself.

Why is the first clean more expensive than the ongoing service?

We’ve often noticed that the first time we clean home it takes more time to bring it up to a certain standard that we will then maintain. We frequently need to get rid of things like mildew and soap scum, so that first time takes a little longer and naturally costs a little more. Please get in touch and we’ll be happy to give you a free estimate.

How frequently can you clean for me?

TEKA Services offers weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly cleaning visits. We can also help you with special events like parties or moving home. You aren’t tied to a contract so you can amend your cleaning plan any time to suit your schedule, needs and budget.

What is ‘green housecleaning?’

TEKA Services avoids using products that damage the ozone layer or cause skin irritation and breathing problems. But many ‘green’ cleaning products aren’t as good at killing bacteria as traditional chemicals, so TEKA uses methods which make up for that, such as using microfibre cloths and pads instead of paper. This is good for the environment and bad news for bacteria. Microfibre products wipe away 99% of bacteria, whereas cotton-based products only manage 30%.

What is ‘greenwashing?’

When something is called a ‘whitewash’ that’s because it’s been falsely made to look good. When a company commits ‘greenwashing’, it pretends to offer environmentally-friendly cleaning services but then doesn’t.

At TEKA, we believe in transparency, so we won’t claim green credentials where we can’t prove them. We are committed to making your home as clean and safe as possible, and if that means we need to use a mix of traditional and eco-friendly products and methods then we won’t hide it.

How can green cleaning services keep my home clean and safe?

TEKA strives to use cleaning products that are acid-free, and don’t use toxic chemicals such as petroleum and ammonia. We suggest that you strike a balance between using eco-friendly cleaning products and disinfectants in your cleaning plan to make sure that your house is as clean and safe as it can be.
